• 7 Keys to Empower Your Life and Create a Magnificent Life

The month of January is shortly coming to an end and we are approaching February. I want this year to be a magnificent year for you, and, therefore I decided to share with you 7 Keys to Empower Your Life and Create a Magnificent Life.

    1. Find your purpose in life. A lot of people think that purpose has to do with career, but purpose is about so much more. Purpose is about who you are, is about knowing who you truly are, and is about how you express yourself in life. It is about expressing your true essence. For example, my friend’s purpose, as stated by her, is to express love. Therefore in her job as a teacher she gets to live her purpose by expressing love to the children. However she does not need to be in a job in order to express her purpose, as she chooses to express love in everything she does. My purpose is to live as my Higher Self, and teach others to live as their Higher Self too. Therefore in every action that I take I keep this in mind, especially when fear and the ego kicks in. When this happens I ask myself, what would my Higher Self do in this situation, and I proceed to do that. Once you find out what your purpose is you not only get to express it, but you get to be yourself, and express the essence of who you are.

    2. Transcend your past and take charge of your life. To this date I have not met a single person who has not gone through something difficult, painful, or challenging. For many it started as early as childhood and for a few others it happened later on in life. However regardless of what you might have gone through, and/or how painful and tough it might have been, it is now part of the past. It is up to you to allow it to continue to affect you and direct your life, or it is up to you to choose to instead transcend it, and free yourself from the chains that have continued to bind you. I highly recommend that you do the latter, and begin to really take responsibility for ALL your life. In taking responsibility you take charge of your life because you know that you are the creator of your life. No one else can live your life nor create your life but you. As always I emphasize that you take responsibility coming always from compassion and non judgment.

    3. Develop good habits. A lot of times we are aware that our habits may not be the best, and we might want to change them, but we are so used to them that it may almost seem impossible to do so. One thing that you can do is that instead of focusing on what you need to change or stop doing, focus on what is it that you need to do instead. For example, instead of focusing on what foods you need to “eliminate,” you might want to focus on what foods you need to add (fruits, veggies, water, etc….), and begin doing that which you need to do. For example in my case I needed to drink more water, so I made sure that I develop the habit of having hot water with lemon first thing in the morning, and I can honestly say that it has become a habit. I also wanted to start praying again, therefore I found a beautiful and fun way to incorporate prayer in my day. For example when I go on my hikes or meditation walks once I get to a certain significant point or to the end of the trail, I take some time to not only appreciate the scenery but to say a prayer. It may be a prayer of gratitude, a prayer that I say and offer to someone in need, a prayer to connect with God, or a prayer for family and friends. These may seem like very simple examples, but the point here is for you to break down the bigger picture into small steps, and to reinforce those steps by making them habits; good habits. Once it becomes a habit it will most likely end up being part of the rest of your life, and it is okay for good habits, the ones that are steering us closer to our goals, to be part of our lives forever if they continue to work for us.

4.”Don’t do unto others what you don’t want others to do unto you.” This wonderful quote by Confucius is pretty much self explanatory: treat others the way you would like to be treated, and do not do to others what you wouldn’t like others to do to you. Come from respect, and treat others with respect. It does not mean that you are not going to set boundaries if needed, it does not mean that you are not going to speak up if needed, but it simply means that you are going to have in mind doing everything with respect and integrity, and I repeat myself one more time “not doing to others what you wouldn’t like others to do to you.”

5.”Feel the fear and do it anyway.” Who has not felt fear in their life? Has anyone not experienced fear ever? So far I have not met anyone who has not; not even some of the most confident people that I have ever met. They too have experienced fear, the difference is that they decided to not be led by their fear, and to still go after their dreams regardless of the fear that they were experiencing. Therefore this 2017 I am here to remind you that as Susan Jeffers, said in her book: “Feel the fear and do it anyway.” The fear is not eternal and once you do that which you fear you will end up feeling so accomplished, and glad that you did it besides your fear, and your fear will now turn into tremendous joy.

6.Take action and keep going. We all know that if we want to create anything in our life we need to take action. We can use visualizations which are part of my work, and I highly recommend them, but we still need to take action. Some people are very good at taking action while others are not that great. Regardless of which of one you identify yourself with, the good news is that you can still take action and move towards your dreams. Once you begin to take action you may find some challenges, road blocks, obstacles, etc… Do not make anything out of them other than them being a normal part of the journey. The important thing is how you respond to these challenges. Do you stop and give up, or do you reevaluate the situation and keep going?

7.”Enjoy the journey and not just the destination.” I once read on a bumper sticker something that stuck with me and that I remember to this day. It said the following: “The Purpose of Life is to Live it.” That is the purpose of life, to live it. Therefore if you are reading this it means that you are alive, and if you are alive, LIVE!!!! Please notice that I capitalized LIVE because I want to encourage you to live and not just survive. You most likely have been doing plenty of surviving already. Therefore this 2017 I challenge you to LIVE. Live with passion, live with purpose, live fully, live with gratitude, live with joy…. Don’t wait to get to the end of your goal to enjoy it, no!!!! Enjoy your journey. The journey is what is going to get you to your destination, why not enjoy the journey too? Enjoy it in the now, enjoy every step that you take towards it, appreciate yourself for no longer being willing to play small, practice gratitude for the little (BIG) things in life, and have fun every step of the way regardless of the challenges and/or obstacles. Remember to enjoy the journey and not just the destination.

I started by saying that I want 2017 to be a magnificent year for you. I want this to be the last year where you are already sabotaging and giving up on your New Year’s Resolutions by February. No, not this time! February should be just the beginning of the awakened and fulfilled life that you are going to create for yourself. As discussed in one of The Empowered Steps, in order for that to happen you need to take action.

Therefore I invite you to take action, what are you waiting for? Stop hesitating and apply for your Free Empowerment Alignment Session.

Lots of fabulous advice here- thank you! I particulary like the recommendation to focus not on what you shouldn’t be doing, but on what you can and will do. And I also love tip number 7- enjoying the journey is what I intend to focus on this year.
